In the first game with the Keokuk Chiefs (14-3 overall; 6-1 Southeast), the Washington Demon boys’ basketball team fell behind big early on their way to a 77-33 loss. As heard on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com, the Demons had the rematch with the Chiefs at Washington High School and had a much better result.

Washington senior guard Thomas Bump scored a game-high 19 points, but got just 12 points from the rest of his team in a 41-31 setback to Keokuk. The Chiefs had two players in double figures scoring, led by senior guard Jonny Dahl’s 14 points.

The win is the eighth straight win for Keokuk over Washington in boys’ basketball. The setback drops Washington’s boys’ basketball record to 5-9 overall and 1-5 in conference play. The Demons return to the court next Friday in a Southeast Conference showdown with the Fort Madison Bloodhounds at Washington High School.
