The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk Girls’ basketball team (13-5) played against non conference opponent the Northeast Goose Lake Rebels. As you heard on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCIIradio.com the Golden Hawks would come away with the victory at home with a score of 57-45.

Mid-Prairie offense got off to a slow start in this one and were down 25-20 at halftime. In the third, the offense kicked into high gear outscoring the Rebels 20-6. In the forth quarter Mid-Prairie hit some clutch free throws to secure the victory.

Junior Alex Rath lead the Golden Hawks with 17 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Mid-Prairie had two players that scored in double figures coming off the bench. Sophomore Ali Butters 11 points and Freshman Addison Rath had 10 points with seven rebounds.

The Golden Hawks move to 13-5 in the season and will face top River Valley Conference opponent Iowa City Regina. Game will take place at 4:30 p.m right after the boys game in Wellman.
