The Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union has released the postseason pairings for Classes 1 through 3A.

In Class 3A Region 5, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks (11-5 overall) open up the district bracket at Tim Grady Gymnasium against the Williamsburg Raiders on Feb. 14. If the Golden Hawks are able to beat the Raiders, they will play the district semifinal game at home on Feb. 18 against the winner of the Solon (11-6)/Benton Community (8-9 overall) contest.

In Class 2A Region 5, the Columbus Community Wildcats (12-4 overall) begin their postseason run against the West Burlington Falcons (3-12 overall) in Columbus Junction. If the Wildcats win, they would advance to face the West Branch Bears (11-5 overall) in the district quarterfinals at West Branch High School on Feb. 17.

Class 2A Region 6, the Highland Huskies (12-5 overall) are paired up in the district opener with the North Mahaska Warhawks (3-14 overall) on Feb. 14. If the Huskies win, they will advance to face the Iowa City Regina Regals (13-2 overall) on Feb. 17.

Class 1A Region 6 has two matchups involving KCII area teams. The Sigourney Savages (9-7) are slated to face the Lone Tree Lions (5-12) on Feb. 12 in Sigourney. The winner advances to face the English Valleys Bulldogs (12-3) in North English on Feb. 17. The Keota Eagles (8-9 overall) open their postseason run hosting the Iowa Mennonite School. Finally, the WACO Warriors (11-6 overall) are schedule to square off against the Tri County Trojans (2-14). The winner of Keota and IMS will meet the winner of WACO and Tri County in Keota on Feb. 17.

The Washington Demon girls’ basketball team will find out their post season opponent on Monday with the releasing of the Class 4A and 5A pairings by the IGHSAU.
