The Washington Demon girls basketball team (4-12 overall; 0-5 Southeast) finished their first round of conference games Tuesday evening. The Demons were on the road against the Fort Madison Bloodhounds in a Southeast Conference showdown.

The Demons struggled offensively, shooting 13 percent (3-22) from beyond the arc in a 56-40 setback to the Bloodhounds. Junior guard Morgan Kimball scored a team-high 12 points, while freshman guard Sarah Nacos contributed seven points in the setback.

The Washington boys’ basketball team also fell to Fort Madison last night 69-29.

The loss drops Washington girls’ basketball team to 4-11 overall and 0-5 in conference play. The setback drops the boys’ team to 5-8 overall and 1-3 in conference competition. The Demons return to the court on Friday evening in a Southeast Conference showdown with the Keokuk Chiefs at Washington High School.
