Shawn Showers takes his oath of office as Washington County Attorney.

Eight people, including two supervisors and the new county attorney, were sworn in to their respective roles at yesterday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. Richard Young ran unopposed in November’s election for his seat on the board of supervisors and Abe Miller was sworn in as the newest member to the all Republican board.

Also, Shawn Showers took his oath of office for Washington County Attorney. He defeated the previous county attorney, Larry Brock, in June’s primary and also won against former county attorney Barb Edmondson in November’s general election.

The new chairman of the board of supervisors is Jack Seward and Young will serve as vice chair.
