With their part-time superintendent retiring, the WACO School Board is expected to decide how to move forward this evening. According to School Board President Tim Graber, they’re considering a few different options. At a meeting earlier this month, the board discussed hiring another part time superintendent, sharing the position with another district and having the high school principal perform the duties of superintendent. Dr. Darrel Smith has served as superintendent since 2013, and plans to retire when his contract expires in June. Tonight’s school board meeting at the high school begins at 6:30.
