The Highland Huskies girls’ basketball team is off to their best start in recent memory. The Huskies sit undefeated through the first five games of the season for the first time in a decade (2004-05 season), and have been winning their games by an average 25.8 point margin.

The Huskies return to the court tonight in Packwood against their Southeast Iowa Super Conference North rivals the Pekin Panthers. Like Highland, Pekin’s girls’ basketball team also comes into the contest undefeated (4-0) and is defeating their opponents by a 26-point average.

Pekin swept the season series between the two schools last year by a combined total of four points.
