The WACO Warrior football team had four overall selections to this year’s all-district team. The Warriors’ selections to the Class A District 6 team include two first team picks, and two second team choices. Headlining the group is senior Tucker Janecek, who was selected as an all-district first team running back. Janecek led the Warriors in every rushing category including carries (213), yards (1279), and touchdowns (13). Head coach Chad Edeker says when teams faced the Warriors this season, they knew they had to stop #34.

“Tucker was a very physical runner,” Edeker said, “Had about 1,200 to 1,300 yards on the season, running basically in the A gap. He was an inside power runner and did a real nice job for us.”

The other first team all-district selection for WACO was senior Brayden Blake, who was chosen as a first team defensive back. Blake collected two turnovers in 2014 (1 fumble, 1 interception).

Senior Ben Herzinger and junior Bryce Achen were selected to the all-district’s second team.

The WACO Warriors finished the 2014 season with a 1-8 record, including going 1-5 in Class A District 6 play.
