Washington Public Library’s winning pumpkin “Fancy Nancy” created by Madison.

Today’s Grand Marshal for the annual Trick-or-Treat Around the Square in Washington will be a student from St. James School. Madison won the Festival of Pumpkins painting contest at the Washington Public Library with her Fancy Nancy pumpkin and was awarded the honor along with a new book. (Madison’s full name was not released due to privacy restrictions.)

KCII’s Big Red Radio will be downtown tonight for Trick-or-Treat Around the Square which begins at 5 p.m. with other Chamber sponsored events including hay rack rides and pony rides from 6 to 8 p.m. Due to the cold temperatures in the forecast, the bounce house, games and food have been moved to the Washington YMCA and will still be free of charge.

Washington’s city-wide trick-or-treating will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight.
