Wayland Road will be closed to thru traffic from Coppock Road to 275th Street beginning Monday. According to the Washington County Engineer’s office, W55 will be closed from Coppock Road or W47 to 275th Street or W61. County Engineer Jacob Thorius explains the project is the final step in repairing highway infrastructure from heavy rain and flood damage that happened in April of 2013. Emergency federal construction funds are used to pay for the project which costs just under $120,000. The project was awarded to DeLong Construction, Inc. of Washington. Traffic will be detoured using Wayland Road, Highway 92, Airport Road and 275th Street. The Wayland Road project is anticipated to be finished in late October.
