An instructor with a Washington County based non-profit has been recognized by the PGA. Recipients of the 2014 PGA America Awards were recently announced and the Patriot Award went to Jim Dickerson. He’s the Director of Instruction for the Golf for Injured Veterans Everywhere, or G.I.V.E., Foundation. The program offers golfing instruction to injured veterans at the Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside. The 70-year-old has guided more than 600 veterans through the program. Dickerson, a Sergeant Major, retired from the Army in 1991.
