It was a tough night in the rain for the Golden Hawks of Mid-Prairie as they were defeated 7-6 at home against the Wildcats of Durant Bennett. The game was scoreless through the first twelve minutes of play until Mid-Prairie scored on a one yard touchdown by Ryan Cortum. That touchdown was set up by an interception from Nathan Faselt. That would be the only score until early in the fourth quarter when Durant completed a 13 play 85 yard drive for a touchdown by Brandon Dykes.
The Golden Hawks couldn’t get much going offensively as they only mustered 134 yards of total offense. Starting quarterback Ryan Cortum was sidelined in the second half by Coach Cavanaugh due to injuries. Mid-Prairie plays Clear Creak Amana next on Friday.
