The division lead is on the line for the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks tonight, as they host Durant in softball.
Mid-Prairie took care of Williamsburg on Friday 10-0, and beat 5A Des Moines Abraham Lincoln 3-2 on Saturday. Amber Kral is the top bat with a .591 average, five homers and 31 RBI’s. Alex Rath is hitting .532 with seven RBI’s, and a team leading 32 runs scored. The Golden Hawks have cleanup hitters throughout their lineup, with 16 combined home runs on the year, and Taylor Kurtz leading the charge with seven on the season and a .300 average.
In the circle, Kurtz is the main arm with a 2.94 ERA, 59 strikeouts and opponents hit .290, while Emma Troyer is the second arm with 5.65 ERA and 43 strikeouts.
Durant is ranked No. 3 in 2A, and comes in at 23-8 on the season. They have six girls hitting over .300 on the season, and are led by the bat of Anna Bently with a .423 average, three homers and 43 RBI’s. Shannon Telsrow hits .414 with 32 runs scored.
