The Washington boys golf team got their meet in against Oskaloosa yesterday, and in attendance were two of the top teams in the state with Fairfield and Pella.

The Demons were led by Derek Anding’s 80, while Ryan Waite added an 83, Mason Rich had an 88, Tanner Coleman had an 89, Blake Weidman had a 92 and Noah Enfield finished with a 95.

The Demons placed fifth out of the six teams with a 340, while Pella won the meet with a 307, Mt. Pleasant surprised the Trojans and finished second with a 323, Fairfield was third with a 325, Winterset was fourth with a 327, and the host school Oskaloosa was sixth with a 360.

Demon head coach Mark Berhow said his team needs to continue to work on lowering their scores, but that he is proud with how they played for the first time in wet and rainy conditions.

Washington is back in action Saturday at Fairfield.
