The Mid-Prairie girls golf invitational tees off today.

This meet was scheduled for yesterday, but with the rain it had to be postponed back to today.

Mid-Prairie will host around 10 teams at the meet this year including IMS who is making their return to the grouping, and Fairfield will come up to round out the field, but head coach Tracy McArtor said this is more of a pre-conference meet more than anything.

“Pretty much it will be all of the conference schools in it. West Liberty, West Branch and folks like that, so that will be good for us, it always is, to get to see each other before the conference meet down the road, but a lot of our teams are pretty closely matched [as well], so it’s always good to have that from a competition stand point too, and it’s a fun day for the kids,” McArtor said.

Today’s meet starts at noon.
