Representative Bruce Braley has formally filed paperwork with the Iowa Secretary of State to run for the U.S. Senate. Braley has served in the House since 2007 but is now seeking the seat that is being vacated by retiring Senator Tom Harkin. He states that issues that impact the middle class are important, including minimum wage, protecting Medicare and Social Security, reducing burdens on small business owners and investing in infrastructure. He also states it is important to take care of veterans.

Braley submitted petition forms with over 12,000 signatures from 99 counties, roughly 4,000 signatures were needed from 10 different counties.
