A state official is visiting a few area high schools this afternoon. Initially scheduled for early January, the weather has pushed back Secretary of State Matt Schultz’s visit to WACO High School to promote Rock Iowa, a partnership between his office and the national Rock the Vote program. Schultz says he’s been traveling to schools across the state to talk with students about the importance of participating in our country’s elections.

WACO teacher Renea Reichenbach says Schultz will talk with the seniors currently taking her government class. She hopes the information that’s shared will lead her students to vote in the future.
