Rural school officials are traveling to Des Moines tomorrow to learn more about a group that plans to help small school districts. Mid-Prairie and Keota Superintendent Mark Schneider plans on attending. He says the Rural Student Advocates of Iowa is being formed to represent the interests of school districts with enrollment lower than 1,250. Schneider suspects this would involve lobbying efforts focused on legislative issues important to small, rural school districts.
