The mold issue at WACO Elementary School in Crawfordsville has been taken care of. This past fall, the district found high levels of mold in the carpets of a few areas and in the ventilation system.

Superintendent Darrel Smith says the company chosen to conduct the mold removal has confirmed that the problem is under control.

According to Smith, they have replaced carpeting with high concentrations of mold found in three classrooms, and the district is in the process of replacing the rest. He says they hope this will help them avoid similar issues in the future.
