The group from Michigan chosen to restore the historic Bunker Mill Bridge began their work last week, and will pick it back up after the first of the year.Owner of Bach Steel, Nels Raynor, says he’s repaired a handful of bridges as old as the one outside of Kalona. A few years ago they worked on a bridge in Texas made by the same company that manufactured the Bunker Mill Bridge. It’s possible for the restoration to be finished by February, but issues with funding may delay progress.
