This year’s harvest continues in southeast Iowa. At this point last year, farmers were just about finished. Agronomist John Furlong spends a good amount of time in the area’s fields monitoring conditions. He expects a bigger corn harvest this year, but isn’t so hopeful when it comes to soybeans. In talking with farmers, he’s found yields are down this year for soybeans, but still better than what was predicted in early September.
