Farmers are ready to start this year’s harvest following a growing season that presented a number of challenges. Heavy rains in late spring led to replanting, then months went by with very little precipitation. Marc Knupp farms north of Washington. He plans to start harvesting his corn today. Knupp says at his farm 52 days went by this summer without any rain. He adds, despite the challenges, he expects a decent yield this year.
