Road construction may affect traffic on Highway 78 until late May. According to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mount Pleasant construction office, during the project west of Richland, flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone during lane restrictions Monday through Saturday from 7am to 7pm. There is a 12-foot width lane restriction in the project area. The Iowa DOT reminds motorists that traffic fines are doubled in work zones.
