Due to new state requirements, your student may need proof of a booster shot that protects against three dangerous diseases for next school year. The Tdap booster includes vaccines for tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough. The Mandatory State Immunization is for all students entering 7th grade and born on or after September 15th, 2000. Washington County Public Health is helping parents by holding free school based clinics. According to Traci Shirkey, with WCPH, the first event is being held at Highland Middle School at the end of March.
She says one will be held for the Mid-Prairie School District in April, and adds one is being planned for Washington schools, but a date hasn’t been set.
