Snow received during yesterday’s winter storm continued to be an issue last night.Conditions had gotten worse after the bulk of the storm had passed through, due to the accumulated snow being pushed around by the strong winds. Washington County Maintenance Superintendent JP Van Sickle said yesterday afternoon that the blustery weather had made plowing ineffective.

He warns drivers of poor road conditions across the county. He says at this point, areas of paved road still covered with snow will remain that way until the wind stops and it warms up. He adds the blowing snow has created an uphill battle. Washington Maintenance and Construction Supervisor JJ Bell says all of the roads in the city are cleared of snow, but adds that they remain slippery.
