Some of the youngest members of the Washington County 4-H program counted their one-hundredth can of food collected for HACAP at their last meeting. According to the extension office, the Washington Clover Kids started in October collecting canned food to donate. Members brought in a couple items to each monthly meeting.  The leaders of the group Mindi Rees and April Cuddeback used the project to incorporate lessons about community service and giving..

Clover Kids clubs consist of kindergarteners through third graders.  They aim to have hands-on activities and to build different life skills.  They focus on science experiments, motor skill development, and cooperative play.  The Washington group is one of eight Clover Kids programs in Washington County.
