The Washington City Council could take final action on creating a sidewalk cafe ordinance at their meeting Wednesday evening. The council has approved two out of three required readings to make the new ordinance law – the last reading is scheduled for Wednesday.

At the council’s last meeting they approved the appointments of people to a new task force.  The new group will be examining the condition of residential housing in the city and making recommendations to the city council about how they believe housing can be improved. The council might be adding more people to the task force.

The council also plans to talk about the possibility of changing their meeting day.  Currently, they regularly meet on the first and third Wednesday of the month. Some council members have expressed desire to move the meetings to Tuesdays.
