A fatal head-on collision involving a Washington resident occurred yesterday in Johnson County. At around 5:30 in the morning 18 year old Angela Marie Harrison was driving eastbound on Highway 22 near the junction of Utah Avenue when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle crossed the center line and hit a pickup truck, driven by 59 year old Melvin Hintze of Grand Mound, head-on. According to the Iowa State Patrol Harrison’s injuries were fatal. Hintze and his passenger were transported to the University of Iowa Hospital with non life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
