Over 20 firefighters responded to an afternoon house fire in Henry County yesterday. At around 2pm Mt. Pleasant and New London’s Fire Departments were called to a house fire at 609 North White in Mt. Pleasant. The entire house suffered major damage. After an investigation, the cause of the fire was linked to broken gas line in the basement. Mt. Pleasant sent 15 firefighters and 3 trucks. New London sent 8 volunteer firefighters and one truck.
