The final count shows Washington County’s red kettle fundraiser exceeded last years total. Pastor at 1st Assembly of God Church Jim Cluney says they raised almost $500 more than last through the Salvation Army campaign, with donations totaling $12,446.

He says he’s thankful for the generosity shown at their three locations in Washington and for the time that was donated by the 50 volunteers.

The money that was raised will stay in Washington County to provide financial assistance for those in need. Cluney says that can range from helping pay for food to utilities.
