Now that a sizeable dose of snow has fallen in Washington County, you may be looking ahead to whether it will stick around for Christmas Day.

The National Weather Service has a technical definition of a white Christmas: if on Christmas morning there exists a snow depth of at least one inch.  For any particular year, they list the Washington County area as having roughly a forty-percent chance of having a White Christmas.

Odds are at least that good for this year. The heavy snow this week is not likely to get the chance to melt before Christmas. And the slight possibility of a little more snow Monday and Tuesday could minimally increase the snow depth.
