The Washington Demons took home the win last night over Eddyville-Blakesburg.

The Demons won 49-37, and forced 36 turnovers as well as kept their fouls low, only sending Eddyville-Blakesburg to the line to shoot 12 free throws on the night.

Washington was led by Beth Dillon again with 13 points, followed by Grace Redlinger with nine and Dema Giardino with nine and Stephanie Fishback with eight.

Demon head coach Phil Long said the offense was much better, especially when the game got tight.

“Out kids did a real nice job attack the basket and at the free throw line,” Long said. “Especially down the stretch they got it down to a six point game late and we stepped to the line and made some key free throws to ice the game, so really much better on our offensive performance.”

Washington is now 1-0 and will play again on Saturday at home against Ottumwa.
