Two farming leaders from our area recently went on a trip Africa to see U.S. soy in action. Iowa Soybean Association director, John Heisdorffer of Keota, representing the American Soybean Association and Riverside resident Larry Marek, representing the United Soybean Board made a three country trip to Uganda, South Africa and Ghana.

The purpose of the August trip was to see the agricultural efforts in the countries and to see firsthand the impact soy is making following the efforts by American Soybean Association’s World Initiative for Soy in Human Health program.

The two visited food processing industries, food companies, local farms and local markets.
