With the first two deer hunting seasons opening this past weekend, KCII along with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources want to pass along tips to help keep you safe while hunting.  When hunting deer or other wildlife, you should only use your own tree stand, wear a safety harness, pull your weapon up to your stand using a rope, and always wear blaze orange.  Paul Kay with the DNR says that if you should see a representative from their office, to have your current year’s license with the correct tags for the correct animal with you.

The youth and disabled deer hunting seasons opened Saturday and closes on the 30th.  Kay says that you should be familiar with the different regulations before leaving on your hunting trip and to contact your local DNR representative if you have any questions.
