University of Iowa Health Care is closing one of its clinics. UI Health Care announced their decision to close its clinic in Wapello last week.

Executive Medical Director for Off-Site Clinics, Rami Boutros, cites the amount of people in the community and limited medical resources in statements made regarding the closure. The clinic offers family medicine, women’s health care, on-site radiology and laboratory testing, and community health and wellness programs.

The closure is expected to be completed by September 1st. Boutros added that he hopes residents will utilize their Muscatine branch that’s about a half hour away.
