With the temperatures predicted to reach 100 today and with the higher level of humidity expected the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory until 7:00 tomorrow morning.  This advisory means there is a potential for heat index readings between 105 and 110 degrees says Meteorologist Andy Ervin.  He says the advisory is not to be confused with a heat watch or warning which would be issued when there is a high likelihood for the heat index higher than 110 degrees or the heat to remain in place for several days like we experienced last summer.  Ervin says the wildfires in Colorado have added to the heat that has been building in the western Plains for a week and is now spreading northeast into our area.  He adds the heat will subside tomorrow and into the weekend with the temps into the lower 90s.  Stay tuned to KCII for the latest heat-related weather information.
