Mid-Prairie School District recently negotiated salary and benefits with its teachers.
Superintendent Mark Schneider says they use a process called interest based bargaining, where they sit down and decide what’s best for everyone. This is the eleventh year Mid-Prairie has used this technique.
The contracts were settled and the board ratified it at last week’s board meeting. The salary package called for a 3.95 percent total package increase, including salary and benefits. According to Schneider they try to be as objective as possible, taking into consideration the financial condition of the district and community.
