A winter reading program is up and running at the Washington Public Library.  Library Director Debbie Stanton says the Build a Snowman at Your Library is a reading program that encourages children and families to read one hour.  She says for every hour that is spent reading, another part will be added to the snowman.

Stanton notes the snowmen will be kept and displayed at the library for everyone to see.  The goal of this program is to get families to read together and help kids get past being anxious about being stuck inside.

She says to register at the front desk of the library and all of the reading needs to be completed by February 9th.  To find out more about the Build a Snowman at Your Library program, contact the Washington Public Library.
