Area farmers still have two weeks left to take part in helping their local communities grow. The Monsanto America’s Farmers Grow Communities program is directing $2,500 to non‑profit organizations in their local communities.  Linda Arnold, from the Monsanto Corporation says the program started two years ago and nearly sixty thousand farmers in 38 states have signed up since that time.

She adds more than four point two million dollars has been donated to rural America as well.  Arnold says a winner will be chosen in each eligible county in January of next year.

One winner from last year was Larry Cuddeback from Washington County.  He chose the Washington Junior High School to receive the grant.

The applications are due the end of the month.  The application can be found by following this link.
