The Washington Demon volleyball team’s season came to an end as they faced seventh ranked Maquoketa in Tiffin. The Cardinals won 25-9, 25-10, 25-8. Demon Head Coach Jeff Spenner says they were even stronger than they looked on tape. He says the big thing that stood out was Maquoketa’s ball control, their kills weren’t so much over powering as much as they were well placed. For the Demons:
Johannah Vittetoe 5 kills 1 block
Lauren Vittetoe 5 kills 100-percent serving 6 digs
Lauren Kimball 11 assists 100-percent serving 1 assist
Sydney Greiner 5 kills 10 digs
Erin Webber 4 kills 1 block
Tara Zwer 5 digs

The Demons end their season 13-17. Maquoketa moves on to the Regional Final round where they will face Assumption. Assumption beat Keokuk in three.

Elsewhere Fairfield beat Centerville in three in Fairfield. Now Fairfield will face second ranked Solon. The Trojans facing the Spartans and that match will be for the right to go to state and will be played in Washington.
