Louisa County Conservation is putting on a guided youth pheasant hunt later this month.  Katie Hammond with Louisa County Conservation says kids ages 12 to 15 can participate in the hunt, but they must have a hunter safety certificate.

She says kids can take part in a trap shoot at the Louisa County Gun Club in addition to the guided pheasant hunt.

They will also learn about gun handling and gun safety, wildlife identification, game cleaning, and other topics.  Hammond says firearms and orange vests and hats will be provided.

The free hunt will be Saturday, the 23rd from 8:00 to 4:00.  The deadline to register is today.  To get signed up, look at the link here.
