The Washington County Redistricting Commission presented their proposed plans to about 30 people last night on changes within the County.  Chairman Brian Hora shared that the commission of five members had the challenge of making the new districts and precincts be of equal size, use the existing boundaries of townships and city limits and the convenience of the territory.

The new districts proposed have a variance of 27.2% of the population between them and the difference between the largest and smallest districts is 1.9%.

The new districts and voting precincts were approved by the commission and will be presented to the Washington County Board of Supervisors for approval before sending the changes on to the Secretary of State.  The new changes have to be approved and finalized by the 15th of October.
