A round of powerful thunderstorms rolled through Washington County and Southeast Iowa last night. Heavy rainfall and strong winds in excess of 50 mph came through downtown Washington at 8:05 p.m. More than 1.25 inches of rain fell between 7:45 and 8:45 p.m. at KCII studios in downtown Washington.

Only one severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 8 p.m. for Keokuk County, but it was quickly allowed to expire. Report any storm damage to the Washington Safety Center at 653-2107.
