Officials from the Mid-Prairie School Board will give their first update of the summer at their June meeting.  The board is expected to first hear a special presentation from George Wheeler, Director of District 9 of the Iowa Association of School Boards.  They will then focus on student learning, as they will take a look at the Iowa Core Curriculum as well as potential handbook changes.

Next on the agenda is a discussion of finances, including the 2011-2012 salaries and benefits of principals and directors in the school district, and the costs of renovating the district’s central office.  The Washington County Riverboat Foundation recently awarded the district with a $100,000 grant for those renovations.

An update on the high school construction project is also expected.  The Mid-Prairie District School Board meets tomorrow night at 7:00 at the Wellman Elementary School library.
