A house has been destroyed by fire in rural Washington.  The house located at 2754 Redwood east of Washington was built in the late 1800s.  The home owner Steve Stone says no one was living in the two-story home.  He says lightning struck the abandoned structure early this morning and the house was completely engulfed in flames.

No one was injured in the fire and personnel from the Washington and Ainsworth Fire Departments, Washington County Ambulance and Washington County Sheriff responded to the scene.
