The Washington County Board of Supervisors met yesterday morning and approved the Secondary Roads Department’s five-year construction plan.  This plan highlights the improvement plans for the county’s secondary roads.  Also during the meeting, the Supervisors agreed to move forward with a right-of-way acquisition of a project on 275th Street.

Last month, the Supervisors decided not to begin work on the project because of resistance from one of the land owners along 275th Street.  The county has decided to take less right-of-way in order to complete the project between Elm Avenue and Fir Avenue.

Assistant Engineer Jacob Thorius says they need have 100 feet of right-of-way but would like to take only 80 feet along the affected property of the one land owner.
