The Sigourney Savages open their outdoor track and field season at Pekin this evening. Heading into the season Head Coach Mark Shilb says he feels they’ll be strong in their jumps and sprints. On the jumping side of things, they’ve already had some success. At Pekin’s indoor meet which was at Central College in Pella, J.C. Abrahamson won the high jump going 6’7″, which is good enough to get him to Drake. The Savages’ Logan Klein won the long jump at that meet jumping 20’8″. The WACO boys are also running at Pekin’s meet to open their outdoor season as well.
