The Washington Sanitation Department has chosen a date for their annual spring clean up.  Chairman of the Sanitation Committee Merle Hagie says the citywide clean up date will be the week of Monday, April 11th.  He says bulky items will have a cost of $6 and will need to have a tag on them that has been issued by the city.

Hagie notes all other items will be treated as not requiring the extra cost and sticker.  He adds, the city will start taking bulky items all year long providing the items have the appropriate sticker.

Hagie says when setting out items, to separate any item for recycling separately to help in the speeding up of the collection.  The list of items defined as bulky are:

Sofas, recliner chairs, box springs, mattresses, chest of drawers
