The Washington County Conservation Board is preparing to host a hunter safety class. Ranger Bob Bellmer at the Conservation Education Center in Marr Park says per Iowa law, anyone born in after January 1, 1972 has to be certified in hunter education before they can buy an Iowa hunting license. He says anyone who is 11 years old and older can participate.

Bellmer says three different classes are being held. The course lasts for ten hours and will take place on Tuesday, March 22nd and Thursday, March 24th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will finish on Saturday, March 26th from 8 to noon.
