The Washington Demons got two strong conference road wins at Fort Madison last night. On a doubleheader on KCII, in the first game the Demon girls didn’t give up a bucket until just over 2- minutes left in the first quarter and they led 19-2 at the end of the first quarter and were up 36-8 at halftime. The Demons won 62-33. After the game, Demon Head Coach Phil Long felt the girls came out and executed to a “T” their offense and looked very comfortable. Washington nearly had five girls in double figures. For Washington:
Lauren Vittetoe 20 points including 4 three pointers
Regan Enfield 12 points 2 three pointers
Sydney Greiner 11 points 2 three pointers
Jenna Krebs 9 points
Johannah Vittetoe 8 points
The Demons are now 14-5 and 5-2 in the conference. Fort Madison falls to 4-15 and 0-7 in the conference. Washington will next head over to Wellman on Tuesday for a boy-girl doubleheader with Mid-Praririe. You’ll be hear the game on KCII, we’ll be on the air at 6:00 with the Hyvee Pre-game Show.

The Demon boys also won big although the first half was much closer. Washington was down early but quickly got the lead and went to the second quarter up 15-11. The Demons had a five point lead at halftime 26-21 but started the third quarter on a run and went into the fourth up 41-29. Washington got the win 63-49. Demon Head Coach Bryce Smeins says he was very pleased with his teams hustle and rebounding. For Washington:

The Demons are now 7-8 on the season and 5-2 in the conference. Fort Madison falls to 2-12 and 0-7.
